Creating a Harmonious Balance of Minimalism and Functionality

The design philosophy of A and Partners revolves around simplicity and minimalism. In a city filled with overwhelming marketing ideas, the designers aimed to create a space that exudes calmness and balance. By utilizing basic elements and materials derived from nature, they have achieved a harmonious blend of simplicity and sophistication.

One of the standout features of this design is the transformation of the existing staircase into a captivating sculpture. Previously occupying 25% of the space, the staircase now serves as the main attraction. The designers used coated flat metal bars to finish the railing, adding a touch of elegance to the overall design.

On the upper level of the restaurant, tables are set for both group dining and private dining. To ensure privacy, a metal-finished communal table was strategically placed away from the private dining area, creating a theatrical appearance in the narrow space. This clever arrangement allows for a seamless dining experience, whether guests are looking for an intimate meal or a lively gathering.

Despite the limited space, the restaurant feels open and inviting. Through the use of glass, mirrors, natural light, and light-colored materials, the designers have created a warm and formal setting. The incorporation of locally sourced timber and bare concrete adds a touch of natural beauty to the space, while tinted mirrors create a sense of depth and symmetry.

The renovation of this restaurant was completed in just 60 days, showcasing the designers' ability to work efficiently and effectively. By carefully planning the dining, kitchen, and service areas within the small space, A and Partners overcame the challenge of maximizing functionality without compromising on aesthetics.

The design of this restaurant has been recognized and awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2015. This award is a testament to the designers' commitment to creating well-designed, practical, and innovative spaces that meet professional and industrial requirements.
